Luke taught private music lessons with his dad at their family-owned business: D.A. Music Studios. Cody and Luke brought two students taking lessons at that time into the band, Aaron Sanders (Co-lead Guitar) and Justin Keiser (Bass Guitar). They searched for the right drummer for almost 2 months. None of the drum students from the studio seemed to fit the bill. Finally, Cody discovered his and Luke's long time friend from school, Kyle Snyder, could play drums.
The band put together some original songs and in Christmas of 2005, released an album called 'Watch Me Scream' made cheaply on a Fostex 4-track machine. Soon after, in early 2006, Justin quit Axeon and was replaced by another student from the studio, Colton Ritz (Bass Guitar).
After teaching Colton their songs, they started performing live on a regular basis to get as much experience as possible. At some point during this period, the band got together with some guys from a local band called 'Everybody Else Wins' and used their recording equipment to record a 5 song demo called 'An Unbroken Promise'. Then, after seeing the computer program that was used to record, Luke bought an upgraded version, just to experiment with. Out of this, in late 2006, came the bands first (and so far, only) full-length CD, 'Self-Titled'.
Axeon then decided that the next step was to get a record deal. The band picked the best 5 songs from 'Self-Titled' and started to refine them, and make them as good as they could get, but then, disaster struck ... The computer the band had been using crashed, AND the sound card burned out!
After replacing the sound card, and the hard drive in early 2007, the band was dismayed to find that, although the files were there, the computer would not let them make changes to anything they had recorded prior to the crash.
And so, the band set on a many month project to record the best versions of their best songs as they were capable of. This became the EP called 'Breaking Hearts was Never This Easy'. But before they could send it to any record companies, they were contacted by iLLUMINA Records, telling the band about their Launch program, and Axeon decided to do it.
Axeon is currently hoping to be signed to a record label and is continually playing shows in and around Greenville, Ohio.
