It began in the Winter of 2005, when Nate Krape and Dan Connelly’s band of four years, Tainted Values, had decided to call it quits. Some members were going on to other things, while Nate and Dan chose to stay and fulfill their dreams of making music. They had found one new member toward the end of Tainted Values in a guy named Bradford Huhn, the best vocalist around town. With a new style and several new songs under their belt, they started looking for the right members to fit their tastes, and to share their dreams with. They were told by a mutual friend about a dude named Johnny Dalukey, a drummer in search for a band. They immediately phoned and set up a practice, after which he was in. Johnny had a good friend Matt Panaschiuk, who he knew would be up for bass. It turned out he was and had a great personality as well so then it was decided. A new kid in Dan’s neighborhood, Rob Gonzalez had recently been hanging with the band, moshing around practice and tearing the place up with his screams. Seeing that this talent could not go to waste, they accepted his offer when he mentioned screaming for the band. Six different people, six different ideas, and six different tastes, they all still shared a common level when it came to music and became more than just best friends. They became a family. They had decided upon the name Azlyn, meaning most powerful, dominant; both of which what they believed they could be. They started work on their first album in the fall of 2006 and finished just at the tail end of the year. Playing shows around their area, and being the chilled people they were, they quickly grew a large fan base of friends and fans and have only come further since.
Now, armed with an arsenal of songs that take more twists and turns than a water park fun slide, they believe they have created a fresh, unique blend of styles in a somewhat otherwise clichéd area of music. Keeping to the belief that a song is more of an experience rather than a three-minute visit, they are ready to deliver what a lot bands don’t: variety. If you’re up for something old, something current, and something new all at once, then pop in your Azlyn CD, sit back, close your eyes, and enjoy, for it’s an experience you won’t soon forget. Azlyn’s here, armed and dangerous.
